Before read the rest of this how-to Pilates Ring Exercises, i suggest you know the Pilates Magic Circle itselft first.

The Hundred with the Pilates Ring makes this classic Mat exercise a bit more challenging. Besides warming up your belly, you’re waking up the inner thighs and pelvic floor muscles as well.

Remember the breathing for the Hundred: Inhale, pumping the arms for five, and exhale the air as you scoop your navel in and up.

With the Pilates Ring between your legs, you may not be able to lower your legs as much. In any event, place the Pilates Ring between your ankles or higher if needed,  After the Hundred, you’ll do a series of pelvic lifts, which are pictured. Follow the directions.

Do pelvic lifts with the Pilates Ring in these steps:

  1. Lie on your back.
  2. Place the Pilates Ring between your thighs. Put your feet on the floor, with your heels close to your bottom. Your hands are by your side, palms down. Shoulders touch the Mat and are down.
  3. Peel your spine off the Mat, leading with your tailbone, bone by bone until you’re in a bridge position. Then roll down. Continue reading →
